Wildfire season underway
According to the BC Wildfire Service there have been 11 wildfires in the Southeast Fire Centre larger than .01 hectares so far this year, with two still active.
The largest is a 30 ha fire in the Bull River area, southeast of Goat Haven Peak, which was discovered on June 25.
The other fire, at .75 ha, is in the Wynndel Creek area (near Creston).
The BC Wildfire Service notes its website information changes daily.
Temperatures have been climbing in the region so please exercise extreme caution with flammables.
