Cat licensing before district council Oct. 13

In response to public feedback regarding cats, District of Elkford council is considering amendments to the pet-related bylaws in Elkford.

Proposed amendments include implementing the annual licensing of cats (indoor cats included), as well as prohibiting cats to roam loose on the lands or premises of others without consent (defined as being ā€œat largeā€) within Elkford.

A first reading will be held at the council meeting on October 13 at 6 p.m. in council chambers, at 744 Fording Drive.

All meetings are open to the public. Note that during the COVID-19 pandemic, public attendance in the meetings may be restricted. If so, the public can view meetings via electronic means from outside of the facility.
