The following is a synopsis of what occurred durig the November 26 District of Elkford council meeting.

Elkford Public Library presentation

Representatives of the Elkford Public Library appeared before council to share the library’s Strategic and Financial Plans, and to outline the numerous programs and services that are offered by the library. It’s not just about the books…residents and visitors alike are encouraged to visit the library to learn more about its resources, programs and services.

District of Elkford adopts the Step Code Incentive Policy

Council approved the Step Code Incentive Policy that encourages builders to comply with the BC Energy Step Code and to increase energy performance through simple and low-cost measures.

Step Code is a set of five incremental performance steps for new buildings that go from the BC Building Code minimums to net-zero energy-ready buildings.

The new Policy is applicable to new building construction in Elkford, and is a key piece of Elkford’s commitment to energy efficiency.
