EBYF celebrates 20 years with iconic golf tournament

The Emily Brydon Youth Foundation (EBYF) is celebrating its 20-year anniversary! In the 20 years since its inception, the foundation has invested over $1 million into the Elk Valley, supporting youth and their families through sports, arts and education.

They are incredibly proud of this achievement and are grateful for the opportunity to support a variety of individuals and teams since 2006.

They are equally as proud to work with amazing community organizations that run, facilitate and provide the programming and opportunities that the EBYF supports. Over two decades, they have worked with close to 100 different organizations.

The EBYF started as a way to give back to a community that provided founder, Emily Brydon so much throughout her childhood and racing career. A three-time Olympian and nine-time World Cup medalist, Emily was able to achieve her dreams and goals because of the support she received in a time of need.

Emily’s father died when she was 18. As there was no way to fund her ski racing dreams, Emily was close to walking away from sport. Luckily, a family came to her aid, providing the money and nudge needed to keep her perusing ski racing.

The community of Fernie was by her side throughout her career, for both the successes and setbacks that ensued.

In 2006 Emily created the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation, with the support of co-founder Chris Slubicki.

The goal was to enable and empower youth across the Elk Valley to experience programs, sports, arts, and education and realize their dreams.

EBYF believes in providing opportunities and opening doors for youth wherever possible. This past year they processed over 240 applications and allocated a budget of ~$140k.

To celebrate 20 great years and a community that has supported the foundation since its inception, EBYF is bringing back its legendary golf tournament – for one year only.

Mark your calendars and reserve your spot!
