The Fernie Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its fall programming for 2016. The fall programming, a combination of speakers, workshops, and networking events is designed with membership in mind. In addition to the programming, the chamber will continue to work on policy development and advocacy.
“We are excited about the opportunities that members will have this fall to grow their business. It may be through an education session or workshop, or by showcasing their business in events like the Banter, Business, and Beer or the Taste of Fernie,” said board president Sheila Byers.
This fall has a mix of new and returning events. The Community and Business Excellence Awards is an annual event that celebrates the best in Fernie. The chamber is accepting nominations until September 11. Executive Director Patty Vadnais says “the Awards Gala is a fun evening to celebrate success in our community. And, we are happy to confirm that we will again welcome our MP Mr. Wayne Stetski and MLA Honourable Minister Bill Bennett to celebrate with us.”
The late summer/ fall line-up
AUGUST 9: 11 a.m.: FireSmart Info Session, presented by Fernie Fire Department, Fernie Chamber of Commerce board room – FB: FireSmart.
AUGUST 14: 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.: Fifth annual Show N Shine, 2nd Avenue Fernie, Title Sponsor – Fernie Chrysler. $25 registration. BBQ, Music, Food Trucks, kids activities and more!
AUGUST 22: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Ambassador Program, presented in partnership with College of the Rockies, open to all, $10/person. Pre-register by calling the College at 250-423-4691.
SEPTEMBER 15: 1 p.m.: BR&E Results Presentation and B2B Tradeshow, Park Place Lodge, Open to public. Free to attend.
SEPTEMBER 21: 5:30 – 7 p.m.: Banter, Business & Beers, monthly networking event, free for members.
OCTOBER 13: Awards VIP Reception, Park Place Lodge. For finalists and invited guests.
OCTOBER 19, 5:30 – 7 p.m.: Banter, Business & Beers, 1st Choice Realty, 402 Highway 3, free for members.
OCTOBER 21: Community and Business Excellence Awards Gala, Best Western, Tickets – $70.
