Family Safety Day May 9 in Fernie
The City of Fernie and East Kootenay Emergency Management Program have joined forces to host Family Safety Day in front of Fernie City Hall on May 9.
This is going to be an awesome event for the entire Elk Valley and will include information booths from the East Kootenay Emergency Management Program, East Kootenay FireSmart Program, local fire departments, Search and Rescue, the East Kootenay Amateur Radio Club, Salvation Army, BC Emergency Health Services, RCMP, Ambassador Wild, and other Elk Valley organizations that contribute to community safety and emergency response.
Bring the family May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about how you can prepare for emergencies, register for the Regional Evacuation Notification System (or check your address is properly pinned), check out the emergency vehicles. There will be games for the kids, giveaways and more.
The fair is free, and all are welcome to attend, and the Salvation Army will be doing a barbecue by donation.
