The City of Fernie is undertaking a geotechnical site investigation on city-owned Lots 77, 78, 79, and 80 Ridgemont Lane to assess the stability of the Ridgemont Ridge slope above the properties.

The investigation will help determine whether the lots are suitable for future development.

Starting September 8, trail widening work will be underway along Cemetery Bypass and Lower Eco-Terrorist to allow a drill rig to safely access the top of the slope.

These trails will be temporarily closed while this work is underway. Trail users will be able to access upper Ridgemont trails via the Cemetery Bypass Extension.

An additional short-term trail closure of Cemetery Bypass and Lower Eco-Terrorist will be in place on September 22 to mobilize the drill rig to the investigation site.

Please obey all posted signage and respect closure areas to ensure the safety of the public and workers.
