Griz Days rocking Fernie March 4-8
Fernie is set to celebrate the 43rd annual Griz Days March 4-8 with a large variety of wild, wacky and fun events.
While the fun spans multiple days, it gets hot and heavy Saturday, March 7.
The Griz Days – Extreme Griz Competition takes place from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Rotary Park and Park Place Lodge.
10:30 am – Registration and Check in at Seniors Center Flap Jack Breakfast
11 am – Pancake eating Contest
12 pm – Extreme competition begins at Rotary Park
5:30 pm – Crowning of the Extreme Griz Winner.
Returning this year are Bed Races. Register your team of five (four pushers and one rider) and come on out for some good old-fashioned fun! Beds are provided so all you need to do is show up and show off your skills. Fernie’s main street hasn’t seen action like this since 1970.
The races take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
And the annual Griz Days parade down 2nd Avenue starts at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. There is still time to register your business to participate! Registration closes on February 29, Light up! Decorate! Dress up! Have fun!
