Injured mountain biker rescued

Fernie Search and Rescue (FSAR) last night (June 15) was tasked to assist BC Ambulance Service with an injured mountain biker on the Swine Flu trail..

The rider had hit a tree and suffered injuries to her pelvis, back and head. Using ATVs and hiking in, four FSAR technicians were able to access the subject.

Eight more FSAR techs joined and transported the subject to BC Ambulance.

“We are grateful to the two bikers who came across her and called 911 and kept her company until help arrived,” Fernie SAR noted on social media.

“We would like to remind everyone that response times are longer these days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And that now is a good time to make sure you are taking it easy out there on the trails and water.”
