Fernie’s Kaleb Barnum is preparing to step on the world stage as he departs on January 8 to compete in the 2025 FISU 32nd Winter World University Games in Turin, Italy, from January 13 to 23.

This prestigious event brings together the top university athletes from around the globe, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

Barnum is a member of the Canadian National Ski Cross Team (NextGen) and is the current World Junior Ski Cross Champion. Twenty-year-old Barnum is a third-year biomechanics student at the University of Calgary.

Following the games, Barnum will remain in Europe to compete in the Europa Cup Ski-Cross Race Series, returning to Canada in mid-February.
