The Fernie Trails Alliance has temporarily closed Trail Dogs following a tragic incident involving a mountain biker on the trail July 1.

Our organization and the entire trail community are deeply saddened by this tragic accident. We extend our heartfelt thoughts and condolences to the family, friends, and all those affected during this incredibly difficult time.

The FTA would like to thank the incredible team at Fernie Search and Rescue, Fernie BC Ambulance and the Elk Valley RCMP who attended the scene.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while the trail remains closed out of respect and to allow the appropriate authorities to complete their work.

Please respect all trail closures and avoid Trail Dogs until further notice.
