The Fernie Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Fernie and Community Futures East Kootenay are excited to bring you a fun-filled evening to kickoff the holiday season and get your shop-on, locally Friday, November 29.

For today, if you spend a minimum of $20 at a participating Fernie business you can enter to WIN $1000 to a #SpendItInFernie participating business of your choice!

Each receipt (from November 29, minimum $20, at a participating business) can be entered into the draw.

Winners will be announced  Monday, December 2 at 12 p.m.

You must have receipts (from November 29) to claim prize.  Contest entry closes Friday, November 29 at 11:59 p.m.

The Chamber of Commerce is also alerting residents to the following road closures for the Holiday Kickoff.

• 6th Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue (including entrance to the alleyway). Closed Friday, November 29 from 4 – 10 p.m.
• 1st Avenue from 6th Street to 5th Street (Blue Toque to The Royal). Closed Friday, November 29 from 5- 9 p.m. after the fireworks.
• Parking Lot on 1st Avenue across from Arts Station. Closed November 29, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The chamber asks please advise your staff, tenants, and anyone else affected by these closures. Any vehicles parked in the above-noted areas during the closures will be towed at the owner’s expense.
