Elk Valley RCMP wants to remind everyone during hunting season to be mindful of where your rounds end up.

A family in Fernie recently reported that a bullet, which appeared to be a hunting round, had been located in their bedroom window between the panes of glass.

The round was likely fired from a long distance and appeared to have lost enough velocity that when it struck the window in the family’s home that it did not penetrate the second pane of glass.

Please ensure that if you are hunting this year to make sure that you are following all appropriate firearm safety guidelines. At all times ensure your rounds are discharged in a safe direction with a safe backdrop.
