The City of Fernie is issuing a water quality advisory effective for the Ridgemont community starting July 14, at 9:30 a.m.

While the associated health risks are minimal, the City of Fernie and recommend that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice.

For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making juice or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience during this time. Once the advisory has been lifted, the City of Fernie will notify the public through its website and social media channels.
