Impaired driving an on-going concern: RCMP
Within the first two weeks of December, Elk Valley RCMP, along with East Kootenay RCMP Traffic Services have investigated several impaired driving incidents.
These events arose through reports by citizens of the Elk Valley, through police road checks, or through police observations whilst conducting patrols. Thus far, the investigations resulted in three Criminal Code impaired driving charges and another four 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions.
With the holiday season in full swing, there are an increased numbers of social events, and it is important to ensure your patron, guest, and/or loved one does not drive his/her vehicle when their ability to do so is affected by alcohol.
Impaired driving is an on-going concern and enforcement measures are currently underway. Once again, Elk Valley RCMP wants to remind everyone to not drink and drive.
