RCMP investigating theft of Karelian Bear Dog

Elk Valley RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a pregnant Karelian bear dog, which was stolen from its fenced in yard around April 1 in the area of Elko.

A Karelian bear dog is a Finnish breed of dog and has been with the family for quite some time.

“The owners would like to have their family pet back,” said Cst. Debra Katerenchuk, Elk Valley RCMP Media Relations Officer.

If anyone has any information to assist with this investigation, they are asked to contact the Sparwood RCMP at (250) 425-6233 or if you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
