The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) this morning announced there is a planned burn at the Sparwood Transfer Station today.

“Smoke may be visible in the vicinity of the Transfer Station today as the wood pile is being burned as part of normal operations. There will be a contractor on site with a water truck and equipment,” the RDEK noted on social media.

The work and progress will be monitored closely during the operation.
