Sparwood deactivates Emergency Operations Centre

The District of Sparwood has made the decision to deactivate the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) as of 10 am on June 11, after 84 days of operation.

The decision to stand down the EOC is due to a reduction in the required response to COVID-19. “We thank residents of the District of Sparwood for a responsible approach to COVID-19. Overall, residents complied with restrictions and recommendations and did all they could to stay safe and supportive of one another. While the response level is not as heightened as it initially was, it is very important for everyone to respect social distancing, sanitizing and health and safety protocols put in place by the Provincial Health Officer,” said Sparwood Mayor David Wilks.

The district will continue to communicate and provide regular updates on COVID-19. In addition, a comprehensive guide to district facility and amenity restrictions and openings can be found on the home page of the website at www.sparwood.ca
