Elk Valley RCMP have arrested a man and woman in connection with a robbery of a Sparwood gas station.

On Saturday October 21, RCMP were called to the scene of the robbery where it was quickly determined who the suspects were. Police surrounded a residence in Sparwood and after a very brief but tense stand off, the suspect was taken into custody.

One man has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft, breach of a ‘recognize’ and several outstanding warrants from two separate provinces.

One female was also charged with Breach of Probation and Obstruction of a Police Officer.

Both remain in custody at this time, reported Cpl. Robert Wright of Elk Valley Regional Detachment RCMP.
