Youth Duathlon June 11 in Sparwood
The annual Sparwood Coal Miner Days Youth Duathlon is running and cycling Sunday, June 11 at the Sparwood Recreation Centre.
The event is for kids from pre-school through to Grade 6 (ages three to 12) with the following competition categories:
3-5 years old
A 140 m run; a160 m bike; and a 100 m run (all at Rec)
START 12 p.m.
Grades 1 & 2
A 200 m run; an 800 m bike; and 400 m run thru Lions Park.
START 12:30 pm
Grades 3 & 4
A 400 m run; a 2.2 km bike; and an 800 m run thru Lions Park.
START 12:30 pm
Grades 5 & 6
A 400 m run; a 2.2 km bike; and a 1.2 km run.
START 1 p.m.
Registration Information:
Pre-registration at Recreation Centre preferred (Cost $15).
Late registrations from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on race day – Sunday, June 11.
Package Pickup: Race Day from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
First 50 registrants receive a t-shirt, water, granola bar, racing bib and goodies.
