The Annual Kikomun Run was back up and running again at Surveyor’s Lake, Friday, May 13 and so was approximately 500 elementary school students from across the Elk Valley.

These athletes, students from Elkford, Sparwood, Fernie and Jaffray schools, participated in the event for the first time since COVID-19 restrictions.

All those hungry kids appreciated the hot lunch provided and served by members of the four Lions Clubs of the valley.

Lions served up 1,000 hot dogs, 20 watermelon and hundreds of juice and water.

The volunteers have been providing this free community service for years, as a joint project, funded equally by the four clubs.
