BC Book Prizes Tour stops in Kimberley April 19

BC Book Prize finalists are hitting the road for events throughout the province, with an upcoming stop in Kimberley. Two finalists will visit select communities throughout southern BC from April 16 to 20.

JĂłnĂ­na Kirton, An Honest Woman (Talonbooks), is shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize and G. S. Prendergast, Zero Repeat Forever (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers) is shortlisted for the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize. Book lovers are invited to meet these award-nominated members of the B.C. literary community at this free public event Thursday, April 19 at the Kimberley Public Library (115 Spokane Street) at 7 p.m.

Authors are also scheduled to visit students at elementary and high schools in the communities of Cranbrook, Creston, Erickson, Fernie, Golden, Invermere and Windermere, BC Book Prize noted in a media release. Dates are not yet listed.

The 34th annual BC Book Prizes Gala will be held at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront in Vancouver on Friday, May 4, 2018. Winners in all seven categories will be announced.
