He was the head coach and GM for the Jr A Calgary Mustangs (AJHL) for the 2013-2014 season. During these six seasons he has been a part of two South Division Finalists, two South Division regular season titles and has advanced past the second round of playoffs five of the six years.

During 2006-2010 he was the associate head coach Midget AAA Calgary Buffaloes (AMHL) and during this time he has been a part of three league championships, two provincial titles, and two regional championships and has attended two national championships.

Stuart also had an amazing playing career. Prior to coaching, he played his entire junior career with the Kimberley Dynamiters (RMJHL) from 1995-1998, NCAA Hockey with Bemidji State University (NCAA D1) and a National Championship with the Mount Royal Cougars (ACAC).
