Fuels management program starting soon

The City of Kimberley Fuels Management Program is starting up again with pile burning in the Duck Pond, Myrtle Mountain and Richardsonā€™s side-hill area as soon as next week.

Both Duck Pond and Myrtle Mountain projects are located above Forest Crown on the east side of the Kimberley Nature Park.

The Richardsonā€™s project is located at the south end of the Nordic Area. Burning of these piles is an important component in the forest fuels management program funded by Union of British Columbia Municipalities, the City of Kimberley and the Columbia Basin Trust.

The public are asked to stay clear of these areas during the burning operations. For more information, contact the Kimberley Fire Department at (250)-427-4114.
