2020-2024 Financial Plan

Are you interested in learning about the City budgeting process? For the past several months, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jim Hendricks has been presenting to council and the public on the 2020 – 2024 Financial Plan at several Special Meetings of Council. The 2020 – 2024 Financial Plan will be adopted in the spring of 2020. For the next several months, the city welcomes residents to review the presentations and provide input into the city’s budgeting process in many ways – by email, by attending a future Special Meeting of Council, or by attending an Open House in early 2020 (dates to be determined). Please visit HERE for more information on the financial planning process and how you can provide your input.

Angle Parking

Angle parking IS NOT permitted on city streets except where posted. There are very few locations in Kimberley that allow for angle parking. Please pay attention to signage and limit angle parking to those areas.

Angle parking causes many threats:

  1. It is a safety issue. Angle parking reduces a driver’s visibility and forces a vehicle onto the street and unable to see oncoming traffic or pedestrians.
  2. It is an issue for City operations. Angel parking greatly affects snow clearing by reducing road width and in many cases, not allowing space for the snow plows to pass at all.
  3. We need to preserve our infrastructure. Angle parking forces vehicles to move onto shoulders and off of paved roads thereby eroding asphalt and damaging city infrastructure.

Please avoid angle parking on all city streets other than where posted. Let’s do our best to keep everyone safe and our operations moving through the winter months and all year-round.

Building Permits & Inspections

Planning a renovation or addition to your home? Dreaming of a new deck or garage? Remember to first obtain a Building Permit before starting your project. The permit and inspection process helps to ensure compliance with health, safety and zoning requirements. Building Permit application forms may be obtained at City Hall or the website. The Building Inspector can help you navigate the application process and discuss the relevant building code and other municipal requirements. If you have questions about the permit and inspection process, please visit our website or contact the Building Inspector at 250-427-9655 or [email protected].
