Holiday Solid Waste Collection Schedule Changes

Don’t forget to put out your garbage on these alternate holiday collection dates: Garbage normally collected on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, will be collected on Thursday, December 24 and garbage normally collected on New Year’s Day, Friday January 1, 2021, will be collected on Monday January 4, 2021.

We have already posted the 2021 solid waste collection schedule on our website. Check it out here. Keep the schedule handy so you don’t miss out on your alternate collection dates throughout the year!

Contacting City Hall

Kimberley City Hall is opened with several health and safety measures in place. Masks are required inside City Hall and at all indoor public places. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and we will only be open for payments of utility bills, property tax, license fees, permit fees, and transit passes. Stay home if you are sick and leave children and pets at home if possible.  At this time, the Planning and Operations Departments will hold meetings by phone or online conference as needed. 2021 – 2025 Financial Plan

Are you interested in learning about the city budgeting process? For the past month, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jim Hendricks has been presenting to Council and the public on the 2021 – 2025 Financial Plan at several Special Meetings of Council. The 2021 – 2025 Financial Plan will be adopted in the Spring of 2021. The city welcomes residents to review the presentations and provide input into the city’s budgeting process. FREE Downtown Shuttle

Beginning Sunday, December 27, the Peak to Platzl downtown shuttle will begin service. The shuttle is a FREE scheduled service between the ski resort base area, the upper-mountain accommodations and the downtown shops, pubs and restaurants. The shuttle service operates every day from December 27 until closing weekend of the ski season. On weekdays, for $6 return trip from Cranbrook, you can catch the KC Commuter bus for a worry free day on the slopes! For more information, please visit the city’s website. Several safety measures are in place to protect against the COVID-19 virus. Don’t forget to wear your mask in line while waiting for the bus and on the bus!
