Warren Avenue building lost in early morning fire

The building that housed the Kimberley Gymnastics Club and Gyminy Cricket daycare was destroyed in an early morning fire today (Dec. 14).

The Kimberley Fire Department responded to a structural fire at 2015 Warren Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m..  Firefighters found the building engulfed by flames and smoke.

No injuries were reported but the building has been destroyed, the City of Kimberley confirmed.

The fire closed Warren Avenue between Lindsay and Dalgreen until about 7:20 a.m.

The Kimberley Gymnastics Society confirmed on social media that their home has been lost.

“Sorry to tell you – the club caught fire last night and burned down. This is not a joke and it really sucks. We do not know what happened at the moment – everything is still being processed,” stated society member Donna Andrews on social media.

“Please do not come down to the gym and obviously gymnastics and the Gyminy Cricket daycare is done at this time.”

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
