Wetland Walk Thursday at Eimer’s Lake
The Kimberley Nature Park is part of what makes Kimberley unique and special. We are lucky to have this large park situated right beside town.
On Thursday, June 7 from 6:30 – 8 p.m., Mainstreams is hosting the fourth event in its spring series celebrating our local watershed.
The Eimer’s Wetland Walk will be led by Laura Duncan, with a focus on native plants. In the relatively short distance from the Higgins Street entrance to Eimer’s Lake we witness some of the incredible diversity of ecosystems and therefore, plant life within the park.
Duncan is an avid naturalist with a vast range of experience and wisdom to offer. The nature park has been her backyard for over 40 years.
“It’s always a surprise what appears when we take the time to look and listen,” she says, “at this time of year plants can change drastically even within a day. It is so inspiring.”
We will meet at the College of the Rockies parking lot on Warren Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Rain or shine; the walk is on. Dress appropriately. Different things are seen depending on the weather. It is always beautiful to be out.
