New council elected for ʔakisqnuk First Nation
The ʔakisqnuk First Nation has a new Chief Councillor and Council following yesterday’s election.
A total of 161 ballots were cast with Donald (Mac) Sam receiving the most votes (122), making him the new Chief Councillor.
Stephanie Sam received the second most votes (73) and Darcy Fisher the third most (53), earning council seats.
