The Village of Canal Flats has begun the search for a new chief administrative officer.

Village Mayor Ute Juras noted during final comments in the Friday, April 7 Regional District of East Kootenay board of directors’ meeting that Heidi Frank – the village’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Services was no longer employed.

“We wish her all the best in the future,” Juras said.

Village council is currently searching for a new CAO and arrangements are being made to install an interim CAO to help in the transition, she explained.
