EK rink captures B.C. Master’s Championship

Team Will – a team of curlers from throughout the East Kootenay (based out of Sparwood) last week captured the British Columbia Master’s Championship for 2014.

The championships were held March 7-9 in Creston. Teams representing curling centres in Sparwood, Kelowna, Prince George, Esquimalt, Victoria, Abbotsford, Vancouver and Maple Ridge took part in the competition.

The win means the team attends the National Championships in Coaldale, Alta. at the end of March.

The team is comprised of Fernie’s Ralph Will (lead), Sparwood’s Fraser (Fizz) McKie (second), Cranbrook’s and formerly Invermere’s Peter Sweetman (third) and fourth Gerald Kent (Cranbrook).
