Glow in the Dark Zumbathon

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Kootenay fundraising event

Licensed Zumba Instructors, Josée Bergeron of Key City Zumba, and Chandra Maxymyshyn of Core Fitness Inc. along with another fellow instructor Tiffany Kurt, will be hosting a Glow in the Dark Zumbathon on Saturday, September 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Independent School gymnasium in Cranbrook.

Tickets are $25 per person. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on behalf of the Kootenay Sun Life Financial team, participating in the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes event, taking place late September. Registration is at 6:30 p.m.

The fundraising event features a two-hour-long Zumba Fitness Latin and world dance glow in the dark party for anyone ages 13 and up.

It promises to leave everyone attending, completely energized with a smile on their face and a bounce in their step. Glow bracelets will be provided for everyone attending; we encourage everyone to wear white and neon colors for a glow effect under blacklight. Bring a non-spill water bottle to stay hydrated and wear indoor only athletic shoes.

No previous dance skills required to participate. Let’s all unite and dance together in support of a great cause. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is an organization with the purpose to search for an end to type 1 diabetes (T1D), through research funding and advocacy. Part of their mission is to help those living with T1D, live healthier, easier, and safer lives, until a cure is found.
