Fairmont Airport Fly-in and Open House Sept. 12
The Columbia Valley Airport Society (CVAS) invites members of the public to attend the 2026 Fairmont Hot Springs Airport Fly-In and Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 12.
The event will welcome visiting aircraft and pilots from across Western Canada and provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to learn more about the airport’s role in supporting medical evacuation, wildfire suppression, and general aviation throughout the Columbia Valley.
The Fly-In and Open House serves to:
- Increase public awareness of the airport and its services;
- Share information about the airport’s role in supporting the Columbia Valley;
- Provide opportunities for community engagement and education;
- Welcome visiting pilots and aircraft from across Western Canada;
- Raise funds to support airport operations and maintenance expenses.
Event Highlights
Aircraft and Aviation
- Aerobatic Display by Neil Harris Aerosports (five-time Canadian Advanced National Champion);
- Show times: 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.;
- Aircraft displays and opportunities to view aircraft up close;
- Meet the volunteers who operate and maintain the airport;
- Learn about the airport operations and services.

- Kids’ games and activities
- Face painting
Food and Refreshments
Food and refreshments are available by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Windermere and District Lions Club, Fairmont Lions Club, and the Columbia Valley Airport Society.
- Pancake breakfast
- Hot dog lunch;
- Coffee and tea;
- Water and juice;
- Popcorn.
Fundraising Activities
Proceeds support airport operations and maintenance.
- 50/50 raffle;
- Human slot machine.
