Wings events getting underway

The Wings Over the Rockies Bird Festival is taking flight once again this upcoming week in the Columbia Valley.

The annual celebration of birds and birding begins May 7 and runs until May 13.

Here are some highlight presentations being held during the week-long festival.

Life Among Birds with Dr. Rob Butler at Pynelogs Cultural Centre on Monday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

The next evening is Bird Brains & Eco-Cultural Landscapes in the East Kootenay at Pynelogs, Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.

David Thompson: Birder – is at Pynelogs Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m.

And on Friday May 11, one of the most knowledgeable people going when it comes to the region’s geological makeup will present The Geology, the Hikes and the Birds of the Rocky Mountains. Bill Ayrton’s presentation is at Pynelogs at 7 p.m.
