Happy Solstice! This is a special moment in time each year worthy of our recognition and celebration. And this is a special time in history to be alive.
We are in the early minutes of a whole new day in human history. The birth of the Internet as public domain in 1993, the beginning of a New Millennium in 2000, the conjunction of the Winter Solstice Sun with the Galactic Center… each serves as a signpost. There are many reasons to feel grateful to be here. Yes, humanity also has many challenges to overcome. Thanks to modern technology and the communications aspect of it especially, more people are more aware of the problems we face than ever before. Modern science and technology have brought us so much to be able to collectively rise above survival. Yet, ironically both are also major contributors to bringing us to the very brink where our very survival is at stake. This includes all species of life on our precious planet.
Although the majority of humanity has lost touch with the natural rhythms and cycles of nature, they have not lost touch with humanity. The Sun’s cycle is deeply woven into our individual and collective psyche. How could it be otherwise? This direct relationship with the Sun’s light is the basis of photosynthesis and there is strong evidence to support that the principle upon which this process rests is not solely linked to planet growth.
The same can be said of the Moon’s cycle. The influences of the Sun and Moon are the foundation and all the other planets play key archetypal roles as well. Solstice is a reminder not only of our intimate relationship with nature, both that which we experience on earth, but also that with cosmic nature. In other words, we live on a planet that is part of a larger cosmic reality beginning with the Sun, Moon and Earth and extending to the solar system. Incidentally, the Full Moon in Capricorn occurs on June 23 at 4:32 a.m. PDT. Due to its close approach to Earth in its elliptical cycle it has been dubbed a ‘Super Moon’. The other reason it is a Super Moon is because it will form aspects to all of the far planets from Jupiter out over the course of the day. Expect an emotional ride before the day is done.
Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)
Some exciting fresh starts are indicated for you; these center on home and family. Birth and rebirth are core themes. An increase in confidence is a likely response. Inspired by it all, you are moved to create and realize vivid expressions of beauty. Higher energy levels are another consequence. Celebrate this graduation is an indication to advance.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)
The momentum of expansion continues. An increased work load is a likely consequence. Whether it is your income, a higher degree of self-expression, a widening vision, big dreams and hopes and so on, the feeling is big. Expect this expansive surge to continue. Clarity of vision and focus and patient commitment to them is the key.
Gemini (May 21 – June 21)
Jupiter in your sign over the past year has likely coincided with a sustained period of increase, risk taking, travel and/or big ideas, plans and actions. Now you are entering a cycle when the implementation of these could produce big returns. Follow through with diligence, determination, faith and sustained effort is the next big theme.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
The Sun followed very closely by Jupiter in your sign indicates something big and exciting is happening in your life. The next several weeks will be very revealing of it. You will feel the urge, desire and inspiration to take new leads. Where you confidences were low not so long ago, now they are rising and quickly. Tune-in to get an early jump on it!
Leo (July 22 – Aug 23)
Some beautiful and fruitful dreams are gestating in the fertile ground of your imagination. This process already began a few weeks ago and will deepen over the next several weeks. It may take up to a year, however, for the fruit to actually take form. Trust this and cultivate a steady rhythmic pace of laying a solid and thorough foundation.
Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22)
Some key activation in your social, public and/or professional spheres occurred over the past few weeks. Now it is time to nurture them to their next effective level of growth. This includes giving and more likely receiving training and instruction. Keeping an open mind, collaboration and effective communication constitute key follow through steps.
Libra (Sep 22 – Oct 22)
Some major activations in you public standing and over all status quo have begun. These will continue at an accelerated rate over the next few weeks. The timing is good to push for a promotion or to advance to the next level somehow. A balance of calculated timing and strategy now backed by an assertive drive could produce big returns.
Scorpio (Oct 22 – Nov 21)
Your sights are set on a brighter future. You feel the urge to go big somehow, as if suddenly. This may pertain to your vision and philosophy more than to taking direct action yet. Your focus includes steadily unfolding changes in your over lifestyle, that began two to three years ago. The overall process till persists and this trend will continue.
Sagittarius (Nov 21 – Dec 21)
The theme of endings and beginnings continues and will become increasingly evident over the coming weeks. It may be as simple as new dreams coming in to replace old ones. Of course, the tone could be much more grave. Perhaps it is some kind of transition, transcendence or ascension. Though subtle it is sure and all part of your destiny.
Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19)
Cultivating more harmony on relationship fronts is a call for extra effort. The need to take such action began a few weeks ago anyway and now is increasing. At best, this will coincide with a significant increase in social activity. Taking important initiatives are likely but so too is the prospect of undergoing a powerful series of initiations.
Aquarius (Jan 19 – Feb 19)
You have entered san important cycle that will help to establish a new and stronger foundation. You should already see some of the signs. The twist is that you will have to work for it. Also, how you interpret ‘stronger’ is a key element. Often entering new territory does not produce confidence. This one should but you will need to be clear and sharp to meet the challenges implied.
Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)
A fertile and creative cycle has begun. The initiation will occur in stages and will be complete by mid to late July. Mercury retrograde is the twist that will require added flexibility. Everyone will be dealing with it. For you it includes the need to deliberately concentrate and follow through on your goals, plans and dreams. Get organized, do the work but know that completion will take a while anyway.
