CBT Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs funding approved
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board of directors June 8 approved funding for 138 projects around the region over the coming year.
The funding comes from Columbia Basin Trust’s (CBT) Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs, which are administered by the RDEK.
“We approved a total of $1,001,854 this year,” said RDEK board chair Rob Gay, Electoral Area C director. “From education and outreach projects to community hall renovations, health and fitness initiatives, youth programs and community beautification, these funds will benefit so many different and worthwhile projects in our region.”
After considering public input and recommendations from the municipalities and Electoral Area Directors, the Board approved the funding at its June board meeting.
CBT delivers economic, social, and environmental benefits to the residents of the Columbia Basin. To learn more about CBT programs and initiatives, visit www.cbt.org or call 1-800-505-8998.
