Semi driver charged with impaired driving
On the evening of August 18, Elk Valley RCMP responded to a driving complaint involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 3 near Sparwood.
The report the RCMP had received from a member of the public was that the semi had been driving erratically and had been close to having a collision with another vehicle.
RCMP located and stopped the vehicle and found the driver to be impaired. The driver was charged under B.C.’s Immediate Roadside Sanctions program with the semi and trailer both being seized and impounded for 30 days. The accused also had his driver’s licence seized under the same program for 90 days, Elk Valley RCMP reported.
