Kimberley RCMP Report
Trouble again!
Why is it that people who get into trouble seem to cause themselves more trouble? Case-in-point from last Saturday night (August 4). First a little back ground. The subject was placed on a Peace Bond, which means the court decided it wasn’t serious enough to pursue a charge, but the person must be good for usually a year and abide by a number of conditions.
Police were called to a disturbance out of town. A number of people were camping but one male decides to have a bit much to drink and starts causing problems. His friends try and deal with him, but end up calling the police. But he resists, breaks away and decides to drive. About this time the police arrive and stop the subject. Guess what? They start an impaired driving investigation. Further checks find he is on a Peace Bond with conditions not to consume or possess alcohol or drugs. No doubt you have already figured out he broke at least one condition. Police arrest him and find marijuana.
The Peace Bond was his warning. Now he is facing a number of charges for Failing to Comply with a Court Order. In addition he is prohibited from driving for 90 days, his car was impounded and he got to spend a night in jail.
Long weekend thefts
There were a number of thefts in Marysville over the long weekend. Most items were stolen from vehicles or carports. The items include pop bottles and small amounts of money. If you see a suspicious person or vehicle in the area, please call police. A laptop was also stolen from a residence on Ross Street. If you find a laptop covered in stickers or a person you know suddenly acquired this laptop, call police. I know the owner would appreciate its return.
