East Side Water System under stress
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) is asking East Side Water System users to stop unnecessary water use – including outdoor watering as demand has more than doubled since Friday and the water treatment plant cannot keep up.
This includes Windermere, Timber Ridge/Timber Heights, Baltac, Akiskinook, Calberly Beach, Swansea, Pedley Heights and East Side.
“Heading into this week of record temperatures, we need your help. Please be responsible with your water use indoors and stop all outdoor watering of lawns. If you need to water gardens/plants, please abide by the watering hours and limit your watering times to the minimum amount possible,” the RDEK stated today (June 27).
