Sucks to be you but that’s your right

So our American cousins will be allowed back into Canada on August 9, as long as they have received two doses of the 5G jaberoo.
This will happen at the same time the USA is experiencing the start of a fourth wave, spiked high with the COVID-19 Delta Variant. The nation that got it so horribly wrong at the start of the pandemic thanks to the grand heralded gilded tangerine wonder and the pack of rabid floor lickers marching blindly and ignorantly behind his lazy KFC infused rump, is going backwards. Florida is recording its worst daily case counts since the start of the pandemic.
Naturally, as mathematics and science don’t lie, those being torn asunder by the fourth wave are those who slurp the Kool-aid that makes them believe they’re wiser and ‘hipper to the realities’ than the roughly 80% of humans who know the only way out of this pandemic is to get vaccinated.
Those of us with both our jabs have armour to fight off this new reality of life on earth. I like my armour and I am going to put it to use as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.
Those of you who believe you have some fabulous inside intel courtesy Uncle Bubblechops or the five YouTube videos you spent an hour watching, because, despite the fact you’ve never heard the words “Principles of research ethics” you KNOW you’re smarter than those eggheads with multiple degrees and the word “Doctor” before their names, do not have any armour beyond the thickness of your skulls.
Hence, guess which sector of society, in Canada and everywhere else, is being choked by the fourth wave? The math isn’t hard. I’ll give you a sec.
… So how about Canada’s women finally beating the USA at soccer, in the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics? Absolutely wonderful! Been waiting a long time for that and man, does that wash away the bitter taste of 2012!
And how about the efforts of our BC Wildfire Service firefighters and the firefighters from Alberta currently in the East Kootenay helping out? Bless you folks, one and all!
How’s the math coming along?
Remember, the majority of those with both doses of vaccine are not getting COVID-19, and risking getting a myriad of life-lasting side effects, or, you know, dying. At last count, 4.23 million people have died world-wide since the onset of the pandemic. I know numbers and math aren’t the lot of those who see the vaccine as some form of evil government control, initiated by a cabal consisting of every brutally paid journalist in the world (who are doing these evil, deceiving deeds out of the darkness of their hearts; at least I am, anyway), every politician from top to bottom, doctors, scientists, definitely those fucking actors, and pretty much every person in the world who is part of ‘the system’ that ‘makes things run,’ per se. And clowns. We see you clowns. We know what you’re up to.
What you’re not doing is travelling and that, my dear readers and friends, sucks the big Turkish onion and I blame Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for being a sap who didn’t demand a back scratch from the Yanks.
Despite all the gloomy potential of this fourth wave hitting us, Trudeau and his Liberal pals think it is wise to open the border to Americans August 9. Yes, they must have their vaccines, but no one ever lies or weasels their ways over borders, eh? And to make it more insulting, the Americans won’t let Canadians in (over land borders). Bonkers logic.
Sounds about right for Ottawa; out-of-touch due to being constantly shwacked out of their minds on the sweet fiscal juice of taxpayer money and giddy from a prevailing false sense of unreachable power and privilege as they parade gleefully toward an election.
We’re so close to ending this pandemic. All it takes is determination and grit to see the fight through to the end. I believe that only about five to seven per cent of our population leans in the conspiracy theorist spectrum, so that means about 13 to 15% of people dodging the jab are doing so out of fear, bad advice and information and good old laziness.
This rounding up of the strays to put an end to pandemics is common.
From smallpox to tuberculosis to polio, segments of society at the time vaccines were being delivered, balked and chafed at getting them for a bunch of reasons not associated with facts or reality, such as around the small pox vaccine in 1885.
Those people remaining unvaccinated ended up becoming easier victims of the sundry diseases that have ravaged humankind.
As restrictions ease and we ‘go back to normal’ and crowd together as we once did, super-spreader events will occur constantly and, back to the math thing, the odds for those unvaccinated getting COVID-19 are WAY higher.
K, if you have 10 people in a room and eight are vaccinated, that means two people are potentially screwed because vaccinated people carry covid about in their snotters just like the unvaccinated. There will shouting and laughing and all sorts of moist air will mingle and before you can say ‘the Outer Hebrides Islands’ someone is on a ventilator wondering what hit them.
Making it all the more interesting, it seems to me that anti-vaxxers also tend to be those who have rebelled against public health orders, from wearing masks to gathering in large groups. I don’t want to say it’s karma because sadly I know some anti-vaxxers and I like and love them and don’t wish to see any harm befall them.
If I can offer some likely unwanted advice, stop doing your own research unless you have a starting point idea how to actually do research, which takes, like, a really long time. When you’ve had seven to 12 years of research under your belt and have written a thesis or two, then offer your advice on said topic of expertise. Until then, maybe leave the smart talk to those who have done the work.
Save yourselves, dear anti-vaxxers, and have a visit with your family doctor and get them to explain the basics of the vaccine and what it will do to you. Your doctor will tell you if you or your children are susceptible to any possible side effects. You trust your family doctor to do the right thing for you, right? That’s why you go see them when you’re not well.
Having a wee jab twice and becoming shielded against the ravages of COVID-19, and having some mild after-effects such as headache, soreness in the arm, lethargy, nausea etc. is a much easier route to take than landing in an ICU and having a ventilator jammed down your gullet (if there is even room due to the sharp increase in cases as society regains its ‘freedom’).
It is time to have some faith in your fellow humans. Doctors and scientists only want what the rest of us want; our lives back to normal.
That said, it is a free land. If you don’t want to be jabbed, that’s your business. If your doctor’s best advice for you results in you disagreeing based on zero actual, real intel, that’s your right. But you’re wrong.
And don’t come crying (or wheezing) to the rest of us when some person sneezes in your face in a crowded setting and you land in hospital.
Just as those who don’t vote in an election have no right to complain (yet soooo many do) about the government elected, those who refuse to be inoculated and help push our populations toward herd immunity are going to place themselves into second class scenarios.
No jabs; no entering foreign nations for fun or work. No jabs; no entering sports stadiums, concert halls, night clubs, restaurants, public transportation, hospitals, care homes, theme parks, tourist attractions etc. Sucks to be you but that’s your right.
