RCR will need vaccine proof to access its hills

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) today announced it will require proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record to access all chair lifts and indoor facilities at its resorts this winter.

“Following the advice provided by the provincial government health authorities,” RCR stated  this decision “has been made with the goal of providing you, our guests, our staff, and our resort communities with the safest environment possible.

“This means that all guests 12 or older must show government-issued proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record to ski or ride at RCR resorts during the 2021/22 winter season.”

RCR owns Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (Golden) and Nakiska (in Alberta).

The company announced Oct. 15 that all resort staff must be vaccinated by Dec. 11, the day Kimberley Alpine Resort is set to open.

Additionally, RCR outlined that in order to “streamline capacity and wait times around the resorts, we have chosen not to accept verification of a negative COVID-19 test result to allow access to our resorts.

“Medical or religious exemptions will be considered; however, requests must be submitted four weeks before the date of your resort visit. Exemptions will only be approved if RCR believes that we can ensure the safety of our other guests and staff.”

The company added that refund options are available for customers who may have purchased a product with it for the upcoming winter season and are not comfortable with its policy.

If you have purchased a 2021/22 season pass or RCR Rockies Card (Direct to Lift), you will be able to provide proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record online. You will receive a separate email to verify your proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record.
