Firefighters with the Radium Hot Springs Fire Department (RFD) attended a chimney fire on Rivercrest Road yesterday evening.

Just before 6 p.m. on November 1, RFD responded to an active chimney fire in Radium. Engines 1203, 1201 and ETV 1205 arrived on scene and began to work the fire, RFD reported on social media.

“Due to the often-stubborn nature of these types of fires, our crews worked well into the night to ensure any remaining embers were extinguished.”

The department left Engine 1203 on scene, with two members on fire watch.

“If you plan on taking Rivercrest Road, please drive slowly as our crews may be working and operating equipment.”
