Obituary of Isobel Joy Bradford
ISOBEL JOY BRADFORD (RUSSELL)
FEBRUARY 25, 1927 – OCTOBER 16, 2022
In 1946 she married Charles Arthur Bradford known as Brad. They were married in Toronto at the Toronto Eaton Memorial Church. A year later they moved back to Calgary where her husband worked at Eaton’s Dept. Store credit department.
They raised three sons, Doug, Ron and Russell. In 1977 they retired to Cranbrook, BC. They enjoyed their cottage at Edwards Lake for many years. Isobel also worked at the Credit Bureau in Cranbrook for 12 years.
Isobel was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the Nile and also a lifetime member of the Hospital Auxiliary. Isobel belonged to a knitting group for many years. She ran Bingo at Tara Lee (her home) and was on the Social Committee but most of all she enjoyed playing Bridge.
Isobel leaves to mourn her passing her three sons; Douglas (Donna) Bradford (Calgary), Ronald Bradford (Sidney, BC) and Russell (Laurie) Bradford (Calgary). She leaves behind four grandchildren; Cindy (Trevor) Couldwell (Calgary), Scott (Katie) Bradford (Boston, Mass.), Brandy (Russ) Morin (Calgary) and Casey (Chris) Boyko (Calgary). Also left are seven great grandchildren; Cole and Chase Bradford (Boston, Mass.), Luke and Charlie Couldwell (Calgary), William Morin (Calgary) and Ivy and Evenly Boyko (Calgary). Isobel leaves behind several nephews. Isobel was predeceased by her mother Mary Russell, brothers Norman, Wilfred, Stewart, Robert and Jimmie as well as three step-sisters Peggy, Janet and Grace. In 2002, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Brad.
There will be no funeral service.
