Homebuilders and residential industry subtrades and professionals, dusted off their fanciest shoes and dressed to impress for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA CI) 17th annual Keystone Awards Gala, on February 11 at the Thompson Rivers University Grand Hall.

Twenty-seven awards were handed out from various categories recognizing excellence in home design, build, renovations and more, with Cranbrook-based New Dawn Developments Ltd. reeling in three of them, Kimberley-based Munter Design & Build Corp. and Invermere’s Quiniscoe Homes 20/20 Ltd. earning awards.

Seven judges were enlisted to decide the outcome of the winners, by evaluating each project anonymously based on photos and a marketing statement. The numbers were compiled and tallied in secrecy by a BDO adjudicator.

The local winners are:

• Best Single Family Detached Home under $500,000: New Dawn Developments Ltd. for Steeples Serenity .
• Best Single Family Detached Home $1M – $1.5M: New Dawn Developments Ltd. for Family Haven.
• Best Housing Design: New Dawn Developments Ltd. for Family Haven.
• Best Outdoor Living Space (New or Renovated): Quiniscoe Homes 20/20 Ltd. for Lakefront Terraces.
• Best Kitchen Design Project under $60,000 (New or Renovated): Munter Design & Build Corp. for Aspen’s Peak.
