Highway 3 is currently closed in both directions because of a mudslide between the junction of Highway 6 and Hood Road, for 65.7 km (14 km east of Salmo to Creston).

The road is closed and an assessment is in process, DriveBC reports.

A detour is available via the Kootenay Lake Ferry (pictured) but expect sailing delays due to congestion.
