Work set to begin on new skatepark
It’s finally go time on the skatepark redevelopment project.
The City of Fernie’s contractor will be starting demolition next week, and the existing skatepark will be closed to the public starting Monday, May 15.
Construction of the new grant-funded skatepark will take place over the summer months, with the new skatepark expected to be finished this fall.
Thank you the many members of our community who participated in the in-person workshops and online surveys to help finalize the design. We can’t wait to see the skatepark take shape over the coming months!
Construction fencing will be installed around the site and the public is asked please respect all signage. A temporary skatepark area has been set up in Prentice Park for community use while the park is closed for construction.
