The District of Elkford’s 2023 Downtown Core Utilities Project is approaching completion, marking the end of the first phase of the Downtown Core Plan that was adopted by council in 2021.

The project is on-track to finish within the next few days, and it’s being projected to end both on-time and within budget.

Thank you for your cooperation, patience and perseverance while crews worked hard to perform this job. Our thanks to the crews of Copcan Civil LP, as well, for their dedication to getting the job done efficiently and thoroughly.

Some key benefits of this project, once fully completed, are:

• No potholes;
• No more mazes to get your mail: Post Office access is restored from (wait for it) all three directions;
• Significant upgrades to sewer, water and storm systems in the area;
• Increased accessibility and parking to current and future businesses;
• Completion of the popular, multi-use community trail, the Loop Trail;
• Safer roads and crossings due to traffic calming features.

We hope you’re excited as we are to enjoy these significant upgrades to Elkford’s infrastructure and all of these great improvements to the beautiful place that we call home!
