Porch fire damages home In Cranbrook Sunday

Seventeen (17) staff and two apparatus from Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire call on Sunday night (Nov. 11) at 200-4th Avenue South at approximately 10 p.m.

Upon arrival fire crews found the fire was isolated to an exterior porch and the kitchen at the rear of the building and were able to gain control and extinguish the fire quickly. There was also some smoke damage to the property.
There were no injuries as four residents and three pets were able to safely get out of the home.

Upon completion of the investigation on Monday November 12, investigators were not able to determine the cause of the fire. Damage is estimated at between $20,000 and $30,000.

Officials indicate that quick response and action by fire crews were able to minimize damage to the rest of the home, which will be salvageable.
