Fairmont Ski Hill still closed due to warmth
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort reported Dec. 28 its ski hill remains closed at this time but conditions are starting to improve.
“Until recently, temperatures have simply been too warm to make snow. Thankfully, that has now changed. We’re currently seeing colder temperatures and are able to make snow 24 hours a day, with no snow loss,” the resort noted on social media.
“Opening safely requires significant snow coverage, and it will take several solid days of continuous snowmaking to build a proper base across the entire hill. Unless we also receive some meaningful natural snowfall, it will take time to get conditions to a level where we can safely open.
“As soon as we have a confirmed opening date, it will be shared here and on our website. Until then, please assume the ski hill remains closed,” the resort stated.
“Thanks for your patience. Keep doing your best snow dance!”
