Hidden Valley Road incident concludes safely

The Cranbrook RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) executed a search warrant on January 9, at a residence in the 3000 block of Hidden Valley Road.

Cranbrook RCMP was assisted by several specialized units, including the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT), Southeast District Containment Team, Police Dog Service, and Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS).

During the execution of the search warrant, a man was taken into custody without incident on outstanding unendorsed warrants. The man remains in custody and will appear before the courts.

Cranbrook RCMP Sgt. Graham Hartl emphasized that this was an isolated police incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

“While the execution of search warrants can be volatile, high-risk events, careful planning and the specialized support of the Southeast District ERT and the RCMP Critical Incident Program ensured this operation was completed safely and without incident,” said Sgt. Hartl.

The Cranbrook RCMP would like to thank the public for their cooperation and understanding during the police presence in the area.
